2018 SALE HORSE PREVIEW PARTY entries

3’ and Under Section

1.    #851 – A-Team– 7-year-old, 17-hand bay Thoroughbred gelding. “Archie” is just starting over fences with great success at his first few shows on the local circuit. He’s straightforward and mellow and would make a great first horse. Price: $15,000. Contact: Ashlin Bowen (775) 846-5715 or email: breakaway.bowen@gmail.com

2.    #852 – Dogwood Griffin– 16-year-old, 12.2 5/8-hand red roan Welsh gelding. This pony has safely taken his current owners from cross rails to the rated pony division. He’s a beautiful jumper with plenty of stride and a great lead change. Griffin was champion Children’s Pony Hunter and winner of the Children’s Pony Hunter Classic during Week 1. We recommend a remeasure at the end of the season as Griffin easily measures a Small Pony. This pony is quality enough to compete at the highest level. Price: Low Five Figures. Lease possible. Contact: Kelly Marriner-Smith (503) 913-0887 or cascadiasporthorses@gmail.com

3.    #853 - Sumiko– 7-year-old, 16-1hand bay Thoroughbred gelding. “Miko” is a gorgeous Thoroughbred (with Mr. Prospector on both sides) who is brave, athletic and scopey enough for the jumpers but whose elegance will shine in the hunters. In 2018, Miko has competed in the National Hunter Derbies, with victory in the $1,500 Meadow View Hunter Derby (Nevada), and he placed 11thout of 40+ horses in the USHJA National Hunter Derby here during Week 1. He’s quiet enough for a junior or amateur and could also do the equitation, as well. He’s also great on the trails!  Price: $30,000. Contact: Julie Winkel (775) 742-4615 or email: mwstables@aol.com

4.    #854 – Big Ticket– 6-year-old, 17-hand bay Canadian Warmblood gelding. This horse has experience up to the 3’3” hunters and 3’ equitation. 5.    #855 - Tessajarra– 10-year-old, 15.2 ½-hand bay warmblood mare. Tessajarra has a Small Junior card, plenty of step for the 3’6”. With the right rider she could be a 2’6”-3’6” horse. 8.    #858 – Quick Time– 5-year-old, 16.2-hand warmblood gelding (by Quick Lauro Z—out of a Veneur Du Luc mare). This exceptional youngster shows unlimited ability and scope for the jumper ring. Reminding me of a male lion, he’s laid back and casual until it’s time to hunt. Hunt the jumps that is! He’s exceptionally brave, very well balanced and has a great start to his lateral work, lead changes and jumping absolutely comes naturally. He’s well suited for a good riding junior or amateur in a solid program, but we see him being the perfect fit for a professional looking to develop his or her own grand prix horse. He’s suitable for any ring and quiet enough for the equitation, hunters and hunter derbies. Price: Mid Five Figures. Contact: Kelly Marriner-Smith (503) 913-0887 or cascadiasporthorses@gmail.com
