This new addition to Maplewood's educational programs features veterinarians Danny Marks and Chrysann Collatos and USEF R-rated judge Julie Winkel analyzing and discussing the conformation and athletic attributes of a variety of sport horses, from young prospects to Grand Prix show jumping veterans. In addition, the clinic will include educational seminars, classroom instruction and live judging practice.
The United States Hunter Jumper Association has approved the addition of this Sport Horse Conformation Seminar as a Licensed Official Hunter Breeding clinic for 2017, which allows USEF/USHJA Hunter Breeding Judges to receive credit for continuing education requirements.
The seminar is also open to riders, trainers and anyone interested in learning more about sport horse conformation. Those wishing to receive USEF/USHJA credit must attend the entirety of the seminar. This seminar fulfills the clinic requirements as outlined in Chapter 10 of the USEF Rule Book.

Monday- 8:30 a.m. in Clubhouse
Participants gather at Maplewood for registration, a Continental Breakfast, presentations and classroom discussions.
9 a.m. - Noon - Presentation by Dr. Chysann Collatos on general anatomy.
Noon - 1 p.m. - Lunch
1 p.m. - 5 p.m. - Presentation by Dr. Daniel Marks on characteristics of conformation that create athletic and sound horses in the sport horse world.
Tuesday - 8:30 a.m. in clubhouse
The day begins with a Continental Breakfast and classroom discussions before participants practice live judging.
9 a.m. - Noon - Classroom presentations with Dr. Daniel Marks and Julie Winkel regarding Hunter Breeding protocol, rules and judging criteria.
Noon - 1 p.m. - Lunch
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. - Live judging of foals, broodmares, yearlings, 2- and 3-year-olds.
4 p.m. - Wrap-up and sign-out in Clubhouse.
