Maplewood Children's Summer Camp

Maplewood Summer Camps involve many fun activities in addition to plenty of riding time. From learning to groom and tack up their horses, our campers also enjoy learning about horse care, anatomy, equine behavior, tack, equipment and much more.

In addition, campers spend time on arts and crafts projects, swimming and other fun activities. New this year is a Friday night camp out!

Lessons are split into groups, so there are opportunities for all levels of riders—from beginners to more advanced—to learn new skills and ride with campers of similar ability.

During this educational seminar you'll analyze and discuss the conformation and athletic attributes of a variety of sport horses, from young prospects to Grand Prix show jumping veterans. In addition, the clinic will include educational seminars, classroom instruction and live judging practice. 

The Reno Sport Horse Conformation Seminar is a USHJA/USEF approved clinic for Hunter Breeding Licensed Officials continuing education requirements.

USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Clinic

USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Clinic

The first Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Training Session of the year will feature Jim Wofford as the riding clinician and Nanci Snyder as the stable manager clinician at Maplewood Stables, May 31-June 4. 

Sessions are held over five days with athletes participating in mounted flatwork, gymnastics exercises and coursework as well as intensive stable management lessons. Athletes also spend time auditing and hearing special presentations from guest speakers and experts in the industry at the sessions. 

Auditing is available to the public for the riding portions of the Reno session for $50 a day.

Maplewood hosts the Annual Awards Dinner at Toiyabe Golf & Country Club in Washoe Valley. 

Also being presented at the dinner will be the prestigious Sportsmanship Winner (dating back to 1985) and the Most Improved Rider Trophy for the 2017 show season. These awards are decided on by votes from Maplewood clients, so please cast your vote ASAP.
