Maplewood's inaugural Young Rider Horsemastership Clinic is specifically geared to young riders ages 13-18. Activities include riding lessons, educational seminars/lectures on conformation, grooming, stable management, feed and nutrition, bits and bitting, tack and equipment, judging and many other horsemanship topics.

Julie Winkel will lead the inaugural Young Rider Horsemastership Clinic in 2024.

This educational clinic is open to juniors ages 13-18 who are capable of jumping a .80m-1.10m jumper course or 2’9”-3’ Hunter/Equitation course. 

The clinic is limited to 12 riders who will receive daily riding instruction from Julie Winkel in two groups of six of similar ability. The week will also include educational presentations from other specialists in their fields.    

The clinic runs Wednesday at 2 p.m. through Sunday at 3 p.m., and you may bring your horse or lease one of our wonderful mounts, if available. The total cost is $1,500 for either option. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required, and we must receive your application and deposit to secure your spot.. Auditors are welcome for the clinic for $500, but no meals are provided.
