Maplewood's Fall Update

Chrysann Collatos and Love Matters

We’re headed home from a fabulous two weeks at the Paso Robles Fall Classic Horse Shows. Congratulations to Chrysann Collatos on a fabulous horse show with her Thoroughbred Love Matters and Optical Illusion (by Osilvis), winning the 1.20m Jr/Am Classic, as well as several first and second places in her divisions both weeks.

Also congratulations to Rylan Davis on a show championship in the 1.15m Jr/Am Jumper Modified division on Oxford (by Osilvis). Rylan also had great placings in the equitation ring on sale horse Clayborne. Julie Winkel and Outlier (by Osilvis) were reserve champions in the 1.30m week one and champions week two in the 1.40m.

Rylan Davis and Claiborne

Georgia Brown"s Onyx (by Osilvis), ridden by Elizabeth Beasley, was third and fourth in the 1.20m Classic each week, respectively. Randelieren, ridden by Elle Mullendore and owner Bianca Bianchi, won several first and second place ribbons in the 2’9” and 3’ hunter divisions, including two wins in the under saddles.

We had great performances and lots of ribbons won by Natasha Linton on McDreamy in the 1m, Lindsay Barlow on Obsession (by Osilvis) in the .80m and .90m, Sascha Carter on Oxford (by Osilvis) in the 2’9” and 3’ hunter divisions, Suzanne and Caston in the .80m, and Tricia Booker on I’m Joking in the 2’9” Hunters.

Bianca Bianchi and Randleleiren

Brianna Brekke and Ernestine moved into the 2’9” and 3’ hunter divisions with great ribbons. Elle Mullendore and Devin Adelmann both had great rides on Good One (by Good To Know) in the 1m Jumpers and 2’9” hunter divisions. Elle Mullendore on Good To Know competed in the 3’6” Performance Hunters. So fun to watch this pair in their first National and International Hunter Derbies together! We were joined by Josh Stranahan and his young horse Quicken from Seattle for two weeks of great showing and improvement.

We had a great turn-out a couple of weeks ago at the first of our six Maplewood show series, the Halloween Show. Point standings are available in the office, and our Annual Awards Dinner will be April 3.

The next series show will be Sunday, December 12th. Following will be our Annual Holiday Christmas Dinner at Julie"s house on Monday, December 13th! As is tradition, the Christmas Party will be potluck, and sign-up sheets will be in the office. At the Christmas Party, the Maplewood Calendars will be debuted, including dates for 2022 horse shows we plan to attend, and other major events.

On Sunday, November 28th, we are offering our semi-annual First Responders Horse Handling and Safety Clinic. This free presentation is open to everyone, and it is highly recommended that anyone interested in not only emergency protocol, but also the nature of horses and horse handling and safety in general should attend.
