Maplewood Homebreds Star This Spring!

We recently returned from two weeks of showing at historic Flintridge Riding Club in Pasadena, California managed by West Palms Events. This show is in its 96th year! It was great to see so many old faces as well as new ones.

The highlight for us was competing in the $15,000 Flintridge Grand Prix under the lights with a jam-packed crowd. Kevin Winkel and Andrew Jayne competed on four homebreds by Osilvis and Cartouche Z.

It was a very competitive and exciting class, especially since Kevin won on Osophia and was fourth on Cartel!

Fun fact--Kevin has competed in eight Grand Prix and Open Welcome classes so far in 2017 and won five of them (on Osophia and Optical Illusion) and was second, third and third (on Cartel and Osophia) in the other three! VERY IMPRESSIVE! And, it was fun for me because I was able to attend all five classes he won (but not the other three).

The breeding game is a long road but has certainly paid off for us. We have four weanlings, one 2-year-old, two 3-year-olds, one 4-year-old, three 5-year-olds and one 6-year-old by Osilvis and Cartouche Z that are for sale to the right buyer. And we're very excited for our 2017 foal crop to arrive at the end of this month! Can't wait!!
